Denison’s Bermudan senior Ashley Yearwood was on fire in Gambier ,Ohio against Kenyon on Saturday winning four events all of which were season bests and top ten ranked swims for Division 3.
Her best event was the 200 yard freestyle relay where her Big Red A posted a nation leading time of 1:34.41.Prior to this meet Yearwood swam on the B team for this event with their best showing 1:38.74 with her leading off in 2.,71. She brought the heat on the second leg of the A team clocking 23.64.
In the 100 yard freestyle she dropped from a time of 53.56 on November 7 to record 52.23 for the win .That victory has her ranked 4th overall in Division 3.
In the 200 yard medley relay her Big Red A team dropped from 1:45.55 to win in 1:44.90 yet another 4th ranked performance. Her butterfly splits on this relay have dropped each time she raced moving from 25.74 to 25.64 and now 25.12.
In the 100 yard backstroke she again dropped time .Her previous season best was 58.50 it now stands at 57.98 .That performance has her ranked 8th overall in Division 3.
The Big Red women defeated Kenyon 157.5 to 142.5.
