University of Tampa Spartans St Lucia’s Jordan Augier and Suriname’s Wayne Denswil recorded big time drops in their dual meet against Nova Southeastern on November 21.
Augier dropped from 47.82 to a new season best of 44.78 in the 100 yard freestyle to place 4th in the A final. He was even faster in the heats clocking 44.63. That betters the NCAA division 2 B standard of 46.16. In the 100 yard backstroke he dropped from 51.01 in October to register 49.63 for 3rd place .Again Augier who hails from Gros-Islet St Lucia was under the NCAA B standard of 50.32. He got his 3rd B standard in the 50 yard freestyle when he hit the pads in 20.76 for 3rd in the B final. The B standard is 20.96. Augier finished 7th in the B final of the 100 yard butterfly in 51.44. Jordan recorded a faster time earlier in day posting 50.56. He provided a 44.52 second leg split to help the Spartans A to a total time of 2:57.62 and 1st place. In the 200 yard freestyle relay Augier was on the B team and clocked 20.16 on the second leg to help them to 4th in 1:22.16. In the 200 yard medley relay with Augier doing backstroke 23.25 and Denswil on breaststroke duties 25.15 helped the Spartans A to second in a time of 1:29.51.
Denswil got his NCAA B mark in the 100 yard butterfly as he touched in a time of 50.15 to finish 2nd in the B final. That is under the standard of 50.33. Wayne would go on to crush his 200 yard individual medley time of 2:02.23 in October to win the B final in 1:53.24. Denswil equalled his best time as a Spartan of 2:06.86 in the 200 yard breaststroke to win the B final. He led off both freestyle relays. In the 200 yard freestyle he swam 21.11 to help the B team record a time of 1:22.42 and finish 4th. In the 400 yard freestyle relay he record 45.88 as the B team finished 4th in 3:01.16. The Spartan men went down 93 to the Sharks.
