The second day of the AT & T Winter Nationals in Federal Way Washington saw Jamaica’s Timothy Wynter and Julian Fletcher recording season bests.
Wynter placed 42nd in the 100 metre backstroke with a time of 57.66. He bettered the 57.97 he did at the 2015 Fall Challenge in California in November. At that same meet he lowered his senior national record in the 50 metre backstroke. His old standard of 26.71 was done at the 2013 World Junior Swimming Championships in Dubai. The new record stands at 26.52.
Bermuda’s Julian Fletcher bettered his season best in the 100 metre breaststroke of 1:05.39 at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Minneapolis in November. Fletcher posted 1:04.23 on Friday to finish 35th .
Also in action in the 100 metre backstroke was Jamaican Keanan Dols. Dols stopped the clock in 58.59 for his first long course race in this event for this season. It is also the second fastest time of his career just off his personal best of 58.36 set at the 2015 World Junior Swimming Championships in Singapore in August.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Dylan Carter was 40th in the 200 metre freestyle. Carter touched the pads in 1:52.80.
