The third day of the SEC championships in Missouri saw the CARIFTA region represented in yet another championship final. It was the Aruban Mikel Schreuders who was the standard bearer for the region. Schreuders, competing in what can be seen as one of his best events, the 200 yard freestyle lowered his personal best from 1:36.00 to1:34.84.He would be even faster in the final .Mikel stopped the clock in 1:34.35 to place 5th for the Missouri Tiger. Both times were under the NCAA Division 1 B standard time of 1:37.99.Schreuders also had the fastest last 100 yards of the final as he came home in 47.44.
The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago was represented by Kimberlee John –Williams in the 100 yard butterfly. Kimberlee who is a junior at the University of Georgia bettered the NCAA Division 1 B standard time of 54.49 and her season best of 54.32 to place 27th in 54.28.
