Missouri Tigers Aruban sophomore Jordy Groters continues to make his name as one of the breaststrokers the CARIFTA region with his performance on Day Four of the SEC Championships.
Coming in to Conference championships Groters had a season and personal best of 54.03 in the 100 yard breaststroke. He would break through the 54 second barrier with a 53.17 clocking. At least year’s Championships he won the C final with a then personal best of 54.19 .Now he was in the A final challenging for a medal. In the final he went out 24.72 more than second faster than 2015 and came back in 28.13 to place 6th overall .His final time was 52.85 breaking through the 53 second barrier as well as being under NCAA B standard of 55.39 and ever closer to the NCAA A standard of 52.08.Jordy is now 4th all time in the in event for the Tigers.
Also earning a swim in the evening was Trinidad and Tobago’s Kimberlee John-Williams. She placed 8th in the C final of the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 55.04.Kimberlee worked for her spot in the evening by recording her second fastest time of the season of 54.62.
