MICHELLE DOLS AND CAYLEE WATSON RECORD PERSONAL BESTS AT PATRIOT LEAGUE

The 2016 Patriot League ended on Saturday February 20 with the CARIFTA region represented by the US Virgin Islands Caylee Watson and Jamaica’s Michelle Dols.

 

Dols, who is Jamaica’s best distance swimmer lowered her personal best in the 400 yard individual medley. Heading into the Conference Championships Dols had a season best of 4:53.19 and personal best of 4:42.92 set in 2014. After the morning heats she had a new personal best of 4:40.30 to place her 24th overall. The Colgate freshman also lowered her season best in the 1650 yard freestyle from 17:32.74 to 17:30.25.

 

American University Junior Caylee Watson had a strong showing at the meet. In the 100 yard backstroke she placed 5th in a time of 56.06.She was faster in the morning heats with a time of 56.05. In the 100 yard butterfly she lowered her season best of 57.13 and personal best of 57.13 to 56.42 to make the B final .Watson finished 6th with a time of 56.69.That performance moved her up to 4th all time in school history. Her Eagles A team finished 6th in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.10.Caylee who was the second leg had the fastest split of 23.64. In the 200 yard backstroke she recorded a lifetime best of 2:04.57 to place 19th overall. It also places her 7th all in American University school history. Her Eagles A team placed 7th in a time of 3:29.75. Watson started the relay with a 52.55.

 

When the points were tallied Colgate placed 6th with 206 points and American University were 8th with 167 points.
