NERCISIO WINS BRONZE AT FLORIDA 1A STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Curaçao’s Chadé Nercisio won Bronze last week Friday at the Florida 1A state Championships in Stuart Florida. The meet which took place at the Sailfish Splashpark Aquatic Athletics Center on Friday Nov 11 saw the Trinity Christian Academy again on the medal podium in the 50 yard freestyle.

Entering this year’s Championships she already lowered her personal best to 23.40.That standard would again fall in the heats when she clocked 23.35. In the championship final she would achieve her season goal of breaking the 23 second barrier to win Bronze in a personal best of 22.96. That was the 4th fastest Florida high school performance of the year.

The setting of new personal bests would continue in the 100 yard freestyle . She bettered her time of 51.75 to record 51.58 in the morning. The Championship final saw her just miss breaking the 51 second barrier. Chadé hit the pads in a time of 51.02 (split time 24.72).That performance ranks her 9th in Florida.

In the 200 yard freestyle final the sophomore recorded the 3rd fastest anchor leg of 23.31. That helped her team to a total time of 1:38.89 and 7th overall in the Championship final. Her early morning heroics on the anchor leg enabled her team to make the final as she split 22.51.

In the 400 yard freestyle relay her anchor leg split was 52.39. The team placed 8th overall in a time of 3:38.79.In the morning Chadé put in another incredible last leg to put her team in the Championship final when she was timed at 51.27.

Trinity Christian Academy (Lake Worth) placed 7th in the girls category with 102 points.
