ATKINSON MAKES THIRD CONSECUTIVE CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL IN 100 METRE

Alia Atkinson qualified for her 3rd  World Short Course Swimming Championship final today Dec 9 in Windsor Canada. It also marked her 3rd consecutive Championship final in the 100 metre breaststroke. Her previous final swims have yielded Silver in 2012 and the Gold and World Record in Doha.

In yesterdays’ semi-finals she was third in a time of 1:04.71 (split time 30.60). She will again battle American Medallists from the 50 metre race Lilly King and Molly Hannis . The Americans topped the field with times of 1:04.06 and 1:04.50 respectively. The final will be Saturday at 8:06 pm Jamaica time.
